Information

"Many Non-STEM majors see the math or statistics course requirement as something to endure This discussion explores the implementation and assessment of project-based learning (PBL) in introductory college statistics courses. We discuss effective strategies for designing and structuring projects to enhance students' understanding of statistical concepts. Emphasis is placed on real-world applications, collaborative problem-solving, and the integration of technology. Additionally, we share insights into assessing student performance and the impact of PBL on statistical literacy and critical thinking skills. Attendees will gain practical insights and best practices for incorporating PBL in their own statistics courses, fostering engaged and experiential learning environments."
